LOUGH BOORA
(PYRAMIDS)
Tullamore, County Offaly, Ireland
Lough Boora, or Lough Boora Discovery Park, in full, rests on Boora Bog. The land has
been owned and exploited by Bord na Móna, the largest peat production company in
Ireland since the 1940s. Although Boora Bog continues to be used for agricultural gain,
Lough Boora is masked as an educational experience for tourists, complete with a
sculpture garden, biking paths, and a café. It is well masked, being vast and tranquil.
